This piece is made for the Bring Mary Home foundation and for The Glencoe Museum in Radford, VA in honor of Mary Draper Ingles who survived an incredible journey in the 1700's and was found along the New River Gorge area. If you want to learn more of Mary, read "Follow the River" or check out Wiki - she's my ancestor - I call this "Mary's Moon" 20x20, oil and depicts the dreamy moon she must have seen while traveling, and the rolling hills of the Appalachian mountains, this is the area where she was found.
